Imo a story is not fun without tension. Sure, you can be a bad guy orc, but it'd make more logical sense in a fantasy world if you also lead an army of orcs or were at the head of a faction of orcs, then all you'd have to watch out for is losing in duels against the faction leaders or big hero generals of another faction, but then it'd all make sense:
