Anon Babble stuff isn't my thing, but I disagree with him. There are things like Friday Night Funkin, Digital Circus and Five Nights at Freddy's. These have the bonus of being small (sometimes solo) projects spread by word of mouth instead of having a massive toy company behind them. There's probably more of them out there, but now Anon Babble is old and out of touch.

Because blue boards already have the "NSFW image on SFW board" option and the other red boards allow porn to varied degrees. Anon Babble is the only red board with a topic that doesn't involve sex, and as such it needs a special rule for porn.

The short of it, fandom bandwagons before.... 2016? 2018? were massive on a scale none of the series you and I mention can even compare. Helluva Boss and Digital Circus were the biggest fandom hits recently and there's barely any IRL presence. There was a time in 2012 when you literally couldn't enter a convention without leaving stained with gray bodypaint from how massive homestuck fandom was.

pay a visit to the homestuck thread on 8moe (or the next upd8 thread) and ask about the convention scene. They'll explain it better.
