It's all the additives and crap they put in cigarettes that causes health problems. The additives are there to make them more addictive so you smoke them in excess. Smoking home grown tobacco is a treat at the end of the day but not something craved constantly like chemical laced cigarettes.
Humans have been breathing in smoke from plants far in excess of a few cigarettes since they invented fire and yet lung cancer was extremely rare until the industrial revolution. Whites have had tobacco since the 1600s and the problems didn't show up for hundreds of years later. Natives cultivated tobacco across the entire continent for much longer and didn't have issues either.

Dude I had to sit in a taxi for an hour the other day where the driver was a HEAVY smoker. It was literal torture. The stench was so awful and he was coughing like crazy. The worst smell of smoke and something like rotten fish which I assumed was from the inside of his lungs and accumulated in the interior of the car every time he exhaled the smoke. I kept smelling it for like two days after even though I showered twice and washed the clothes I was wearing. No way that shit could ever be healthy. Maybe if you grow and cure your own tobacco but even then it is addictive to the point where you smoke too much and it is unhealthy.
