Can i still be tracked?

I need a little advice. Let's say theoretically i have some information as well as photos of some highly classified documents. Let's say theoretically i would post them here using not only VPN but also post it through public WIFI as well as by using "left laptop" (bought stolen laptop). Can i still be tracked down?
There is nothing in the photos or documents that would link them to me. No security, code no ID, nothing. I am just asking about the upload itself.

If they want you badly enough they can use the street cameras and highlight any drivers who broke their usual routine and also showed up to the access point before the upload started, and left after it ended. There's also other ways they can track cars even if they swap license plates.

My assumption is that most VPNs have been honey potted and that this would be strategically used were the documents of high enough importance. The VPN would (probably) have your name and address and CC used to pay for it and your ips could be revealed if compromised

That traces then to the public wifi. In a lot of cases there will be surveillance video (say a McDonald's or Starbucks). Additionally they can cross reference that against phone data if you were dumb enough to have your phone on you while you were posting.

So there's ways around that but you see how it could be traced back to you with additional sleuthing

A VPN is tied to an account which means you can be tracked easier. TOR is better anyways.

As long as you have no other RF devices on you at the time (no phone etc) it would be very difficult to identify and track you. They would have to review CCTV footage from the area and try to facial ID you and then trackback your movements.
However if you have ever used that laptop before with wifi at your house, that could be used to geolocate you (WiGLE) once they know its wifi mac address

Drive to random hotspot min 100 miles from your home. Take old laptop without BT or GPS with cheap HDD from Flea Market and format. Spoof MAC address. Connect to Hotspot through VPN/Tor, upload. Destroy laptop. Easy peasey...

just make sure, wherever you do it, there is no CCTV. They'll be able to geolocate where you posted from eventually no matter what precautions you take, when they find where you posted from they will canvas everything near by for CCTV footage and if they catch even a glance of you you're cooked. Don't carry a cell phone.
VPN has to be free.
You have to cover any cams on the laptop.
You have to remove the battery before going to the send location.
Your upload should be encrypted with a key passed through some other channel.

Time is your ally. If you can drop data and wait many weeks then it becomes much harder to backtrack you.
Use a wifi attenae, basically a satellite dish, to access the location remotely.

Leave a usb somewhere with it, where someone will find it and compromise more people.

Your cellphone is always being pinged by cell towers. These records create a traceable history of wear the cellphone is at all times. Assume the cellphone is always doing this. Even if off. Removing the battery should stop the pings. A Faraday cage or pouch should stop the pings, but hard to feel fool proof.

This same tracking applies to WiFi networks. If you have a laptop open it will default to pinging WiFi networks in order to find a list of connection options.

Any normal operating system (windows, android, apple) will have corporate/government backdoor spyware software. Every image the operating system has access to is scanned. File name, exit & meta data, file hash can assumed to be stored and reported.

The RF chip in your computer might give you away if they were highly motivated to track you down, also you'd have to assume any public area has cameras somewhere in the vicinity, so you'd have to cover up your face at the very least, for preventing the RF data leakage I would recommend a faraday bag to store your laptop.
