Well actually the dump wasn't that much different on open. What was it for? Dump to 4800 only to repump to 5250, once on fakenews, but even after clarification it is still at 5150 now. It's all about the wipeout of others.
And weekend gaps are even worse, no way to react but add funds to your account.
I did Weekendfutures on IG as a hedge. Made money at first, then 1 hour monday/sunday(for US) before open went long only for it to instantly dump and stopout. Then went on to revengetrade that loss which worked out, at least made the loss back. If I just had kept the position that I was able to open on a weekend, that would have been 800€ on mondayopen instantly. Opened it to hedge my longs from fridayclose and still didn't just hold it against its purpose. No, I even went long in the end, lol.
And later these longs would have been green. I guess they were closed cause I put on a stoploss (above their entry) and the market jumped past it and the fuckin broker still closed them at a price way below (the literal bottom)

The trade deficit is caused in large part because of the global reserve currency status of the dollar, which causes greater demand for the dollar, which makes it a stronger a dollar.
That makes it harder to export.
And it also means a lot of countries have US dollars in reserve, and want to get something out of it, so they buy US debt. Sometimes US stocks.
Which means we can consume more by issuing more debt, but there is no trade rebalancing that would normally happen, so we just get a larger and larger trade deficit and more and more debt. And more countries hold our debt.
This is okay for a while, but eventually it causes really big problems. The natural process of trade deficits rebalancing out and currency rebalancing can't happen with us.
So what is trump's master plan? Keep the global reserve currency status, but have a weaker dollar. How? Well that's the problem. The solutions are speculative. Grand bargains

In 2015 I went full buy everything made in USA and it's easier said than done. I buy my clothes from "All American Clothing" but some shirts are a hit or a miss. No complaints with their jeans and pants. I will recommend Danner work boots and Darn Tough socks albeit pricey. Get a zippo and a buck knife and you're good to go.
