Zoomers don't understand that these phones suck compared to a den with a 26" F26050WN, a La-Z-Boy couch, your stack of magazines, your consoles, your DVDs, and cable programming like Adult Swim and Anime Unleashed. AND NO the economy of 1994 wasn't like great depression tier compared to now because housing then was way more affordable.

1994 had no dvds

$300,000 vinyl sided box homes didn't exist then. You didn't see those EYESORES before 20 years ago.
Shit like that would only cost $40K in 1994.

who the hell is comparing phones to that?
i don't understand the point of the comparison, or who would be making it

Vinyl sided box homes caused the crash of September 2008.

is that true?
could you elaborate?

a lot of what you're writing rings true, i just wanna know your thoughts

Core gen X entered the workplace in the 1990s.
LATE gen X (1978-1983) started working in the mid 2000s,
and they took out mortgages on cheaply built yet overpriced "homes" in housing developments that they defaulted on.
A whole bunch of them during 2007 up till September 2008 when banks failed.

I thought it was very low standards for giving out loans to everyone who can't afford it, and shilling for loans that had progressive payments that started out low and ramped up to normal monthly bill, with customers expecting they will make more money in the future to afford it.

When a new generation has to move out of their parent's home then there's usually a crisis
because baby boomers had to start working in the 1970s,
which had a notoriously weak economy if you know anything.
They finally established themselves during the 1980s.
The older members of gen X were able
to exploit the upturn of 1995 and get themselves settled into homes of their own.
Gen X loves to complain when they have no reason to because they're luckier with money and jobs than everyone else.
They also have no idea how to enjoy life
because their idea of fun is drinking at nightspots with weird-ass friends.

Only the twenty-somethings just then entering the workplace were taking out loans at any rate.

They also have no idea how to enjoy life

because their idea of fun is drinking at nightspots with weird-ass friends.

yeah i hate that shit
what are some better ways to enjoy life?

Having a den with a cozy couch and 26"CRT that you play video games on because bedrooms with twin beds and desk chairs suck.

They also have no idea how to enjoy life

because their idea of fun is drinking at nightspots with weird-ass friends.

LOL, my boss was like this. He complained the only thing he truly enjoyed in life was getting drunk at bars, but doing it daily would ruin his health so he did it sparingly, and he couldn't find any other hobby as fun as being an alcoholic.

gen Y had a LOT of different computers to choose from I'm jealous

That den was where I slept, so it served as my bedroom before my worthless nephew snatched a GameCube disc in summer 2006 then stuck it under the fridge with the dust and food-grit (thereby scratching and ruining it), which prompted me to move back into bedroom to protect my belongings where I've been stuck for 19 years.

a good childhood isn't marked by having a specific piece of tech or a bean bag chair.
it's the idea that with the passage of time, we would gain footing in the world and build something to be proud of.
just like our ancestors before us.
that's why it's "soulless" today - the niggerfication of our lands means bad times are ahead and the kids can tell.
That's why they take antidepressants instead of riding bikes around.

it was so comfy because it was a subdued waiting period of carefree fun, before responsibility geared up, but with the promise that enjoyment and power would scale with it.
Those days are gone, and childhood became an hourglass counting down to the hell that is modern adulthood

I had a bean bag chair way back in 1994.
That thing sucked because it was uncomfortable as hell YOU idiot

fuck...

i guess college is often an extension of that period of denial/comfiness before hell

i dont understand how to un hell the world from the ground level
