I never really followed any Vtubers, just on the side and through other content creators, but out of nowhere Guras "graduation" (Meaning she quits) livestream popped up on my YouTube recom. list. And she almost had 200k viewers for that performance, and people went fucking insane about it.
I am a zoomer too, but I genuinely don't understand how so many young people can grow so attached to these characters; it's almost—no, it IS pathogenic. It is fucking insane how popular they have become in the last 5 years. It's literally just hot/cute anime avatars pretending to be cute/stupid on stream while playing games. That's it, that's all. And people go nuts for it.
Personally, I think it's a symptom of a wider problem in society, seeing how young man get more and more disenfrenchised by society they turn to Internet personalities, and especially Vtubers since they are as far away from anything real, but still give them the feeling of some parasocial interaction without it reminding them of real life and real women. Fucking hell, even a literal 100% AI vtuber, neurosama, get's more views that most femoids showing their titties on twitch LMAO.
We're truly living in some weird fucked up dystopian clownworld matrix.
