Type H outlets are the clear winner and the only ones that should be used

They're neighbours. You'd want a thing bought over there to work over here when it's that close. Why ours is the same as Switzerlanders is beyond me.

The US one is fucking upside down.
The only time you see it like pic related is in hospitals. the plug is more likely to loosen when it is upside down.

Because picking one means all appliances that use any other standard are useless without an adapter and nobody wants to deal with the transition.

Bro is Japan fucking serious?
What the absolute fuck?

Just to clarify, hospital outlets are built to higher standards so they can be installed ground up for safety reasons.

Tiny Swiss sockets always get enlarged and fucked by French BVLL plugs

Uhh, no? The ground connector always goes on top because that’s where earth is

IMO this one
a world where every wall has a smiling little guy seems like some kind of happiness hack

IMG_4607.jpg - 185x191, 7K

Not unusual in commercial settings.

Just to clarify, hospital outlets are built to higher standards so they can be installed ground up for safety reasons.

They just followed the current standard a few decades sooner. And have a few special rules for location and numbers that don't make them a higher standard just different.

.

Japan and US makes more sense.

The Chad Impaler

The UK plug doubles up as a flail. Anyone with siblings in the UK knows this. If you step on the plug at night your life is over.

Type-G.png - 1504x800, 73.63K

Uhh wtf, why do Japs Ruskies and Yuros not have grounz??

basèd

We also have retarded bongistani outlet btw

I'm not sure what you are saying?
Do they use regular household type outlets?

Danesmark is the coolest and obviously israel is doing some kind of heeb symbol but no one gives a shit enough to find out the meaning
Bongs doing what they do best and make theres as goofy as possible

that's the standard now, and likely required by code for all new construction depending on where you live.

Also why is the USA’s upside down

I pick UK. We just have different voltages at different Hz.

Why is Denmark happy for having long electric cords being shoved in its eyes and mouth?

At least the US and Chinese ones look horrified.

NO TO NWO
OP IS GLOBOHOMO

the ones that share sockets, share power grids

Hong Kong is the exact same as the UK's. I been there.

Also, Taiwan is the exact same as the US, except it has no ground hole. I also been there (and plugged my devices in there with zero issues since they did not have the grounding pin).

when the aryan swiss came to civilize a war torn brasil, they used their tech from back home

agreed. there's too much hate in this world.

Also, why the hell is Germany and South Korea's a BABY?

Sick fucks.

why

I will think about this important issue

This

Are they 220V at 5Hz?

50Hz

Japan

Russia

so is the third prong useless or do these countries just not give a fuck?

The only reason they are upside down is it's a way to indicate the plug is connected to a switch. No other reason.

i hate your goddamn stupid fucking plug SO MUCH that i made this to keep with me in england

It’s safer, which they probably see as weakness.

5 min on google says ground up in hospitals is only so a dropped metal plate on both prongs wont short the circuit ehich makes sense

Even the outlets are horrified by that abomination

we will crush the white race
we will crush the west
glory to the chinese century
and russian victory
smash nazism

You can get commercial outlets. They are generally better quality but not sure it's worth it in a residential home. The upside down thing is more a safety precaution if the plug is partially out and something falls on it there is a limited chance of bridging the hot and neutral since it'll hit the ground prong first.

It has to be said that the British plug is simply superior.

nah they're just trying to be stoic and indifferent after stepping on that son of a bitxh in a hotel room and swearing very loudly.

WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS EVIL FUCKING THING

Why not put a transformer in there so at least American appliances will be compatible?

We have the same type, now that you say it, it kinda looks like a baby from this angle lol

Japan also has grounded sockets but not on regular wall outlets, only appliance outlets and some office outlets. They use either the USA style ground or a screw clamp that you attach a grounding wire to and tighten the screw. Those are for appliances that don’t get moved much.
also this is a slide thread

It is but it's a bastard to stand on the odd time it happens.

im an electrician. most electronics are auto switching power supply, globalism made this the cheaper route.

you can take a laptop power supply and plug it in whatever, the AC side circuitry is likely the same hardware in most. itll say something like 120/230 50/60hz

Well as its as the kids say its a "skill issue".

But then how is law enforcement going to tell where the CP is coming from?

200V air conditioners also use a 200V outlet with three prongs in a different configuration
the triple outlet is very uncommon and I don’t remember having seen one that looks like this
there are normally 2, spaced like USA outlets. Sometimes there is only 1.

The British plug is the most expensive, but it is the safest. I think safety should be prioritized.

UK plug obviously. 220v master race, incredibly safe, hae a built in fuse, the sockets are retard/child proof by default, and can be used as a weapon.

1000033228.jpg - 666x500, 25.65K

Same with language, and that language is English, mainly so that I don't have to waste time learning other useless languages.

Because we're the same country now.

that is a good reason

Well no shit most anything with switch mode power supply attached is fine. But anything that uses AC isn't going to have that.

It used to be the ground was attached to the metal frame of the device in case of a short circuit to the housing, but nothing uses a metal frame anymore so I don’t think the ground really does much for most devices. Aren’t most of your power cords ungrounded anyway these days?

And a nice invitation for toddlers to stick shiny things into them...

Do other countries have the Chad extension cord?

cord.jpg - 652x367, 11.22K

Denmark's is too cute

The British plug is the most expensive, but it is the safest. I think safety should be prioritized.

The voltage is too high to be safe, they had to have such a high voltage because they are poor and couldn't pay for thicker copper wires. They lack circuit breakers and use fuses in the plug as a last ditch attempt at safety. They built the plug way larger than it needs to be because they had one retard on the original standard design document that hated anything smaller than a fist sized interface and refused to relent.

It's a terrible plug and standard by all objective measures.

who is the retarded faggot who put a picture of our socket upside down
clearly we are tied w/ the International Red Cross country

That's a suicide lead.

people probably step on it and fuck themselves up more than they get seriously injured from other plugs

Upside down is safer because if the plug is not fully inserted the hot and neutral pins are less exposed if the ground pin is on top. Especially if the plug is sagging from gravity.
This isn't a problem for other countries that have partially insulated pins or recessed outlets.

Male to Male

Faggot

we have about 60 different plugs. they all are grounded, some are iso ground, some equipment ground, many different voltages and phases

you can have 120, 208, 240, 277, 480 being the most common ones. in 1 or 3 phase wye or delta configuration

lot of foreigners dont know this. i seen a lot of people fuck this up and blow up motors and equipment

suicide

How else am I supposed to run my Harbor Freight gas generator to power my fridge

Italy wins on style.

not really needed the only thing I use other than sw power electronics when traveling is my nipple clamps to put on my hairy man tits

I find these are more convenient if you cut the ground pin off with a dremel so you can plug the plug in upside-down without twisting the cord

I recognize the european one where the neutral/live connectors are cylindrical (lol Russia has no ground, zap the plebs!).
What god forsaken heathen bullshit is the rest?

uk plug is actually the worst. They have a circuit in the plug because after ww2 there was a copper shortage. It made more sense to just daisy chain all your outlets together rather than having a centralized box. So when one outlet goes out, every other outlet goes out in an UK home.
Brazil actually adopted the closest thing to the standard plug created by the IEEE

Imagine plugging this from one outlet to another that are on different phases lol

pikachu.gif - 499x268, 171.11K

our ones are pretty good. if they get loose you just bend the top prongs in or out a little bit and they go in tight as fuck again.

Denmark because it looks like a happy face. Simple as.

Denmark has the best one

I wish that trick worked with your mom.

this is why
you actually have the best outlets

you can do that with any of the narrow ones. thats not specific to aus plugs.

ah fuck that didnt include the NEMA twistloks too

ya america doesnt have 1 plug fellow chuds this gets a bit complicated

220v

Imagine not getting 240v.

Fair.

its the same thing you turbo nigger

220 230 240 volts nominal

they all are grounded

top 2 rows of pic

hmm

nope.

Everyone forgets about the twist lock untill it arcs.

Europlugs are all bulky as fuck. Unplugging a lamp is like disconnecting from the mainframe.

The actual best plug
IEC 60906-1
It was actually developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission

For me its

You niggas have the cold and hot faucet separated
WHY?

you vill not have ze happy outlets

The world is moving to USB for most low power applications. Obviously you're not going to run a microwave or electric kettle off of USB but for most consumer devices, USB Type C is able to deliver more than enough power.

usb.jpg - 1000x1000, 31.21K

fair point. didnt consider that the happy face would be inviting to children.

extremely, EXTREMELY rarely used. i have only seen them run pish button switches on a cord you can disconnect.

like a remote cord to start a pump contactor from a distance (that may be in a pit or something). not so much for power

4.5A

very gay

yeah we have twist locks too, on office equipment and on exterior outlets.
I think most countries have the various 3-phase and higher voltage outlets too, you just don’t see them in residential settings.

maybe only used for certain appliances.

Walk around your house and notice what is plugged into a wall. How many of these things can *actually* be reasonably powered with that outlet?

Some parts of the country used to get as high as 250v.

had a retard put a 120/208 3 phase twistlok on a 240 delta 3 phase panel like, "eh what could it hurt right"

blew the fuck up out of this portable ac unit. but youre right lot of people dont jam and twist em in hard

I made a typing error sir.

Imagine being a nitpicking faggot.

you are correct, also on constriction sites in USA twistlok plugs are mandated for everything.

they can f right off i dont comply with it. its a pain in the ass, and im not lopping the ends off my tools

Its an old US commercial design from the 1920s. There were many competing designs, its market share was big in Australia and eventually got official adopted, IDK why in China possibly also used in China early on.

they should really call the utility and re tap the can if it gets that high. its free. im not sure of brit spec thought, we cover it in the NEC (NFPA70) here

Any fucking foreigners in America who don't choose the American version need to gtfo and head to whatever flag you voted for.

At 48v, it can deliver 240 watts, which is enough for probably 95% of uses.

The real issue is the infrastructure is already in place. It's not just "Okay, from now on, we'll only use these plugs in new buildings." You've also got to build entire lines of every corded product, one for the "legacy" plugs in literally every home in your country (if not continent) and another for the new one.

are you stealing power from the verizon again

UK ones don't get loose in the first place. I also once tripped over a wire and ripped the socket in half, it was open like a set of doors but still worked.

Okay but how is this thread politically related?

Most things can. Just look at the power specs. Just like we have special ports for high power appliances like electric dryers, "standard" ports for things like PCs aren't going to go away, they'll just be less of them. Walk around and see how many adapters are plugged into wall sockets. Also check how many devices have internal transformers due to plugging into standard outlets. Reality is that most things just don't use all that much power.

No AC though

Pretty much every single building in the uk has a circuit breaker in addition to the plugs own fuse you stupid canjeet.

the twistlok outlets here use a regular plug but lock it in place when you twist. They’re usually pointing down and shrouded for weather resistance too so plugging one in requires a lot of crouching down and blindly poking and twisting and poking again and twisting and eventually pulling a muscle in your back
it’s like shit if I wanted to be doing this I would (insert Al Bundy joke here)

Tight asian plugs are best. Europeans like big gaping holes because it reminds them of their own holes after getting fucked everyday

yes, exactly we have those types here too youre sayin. ive seen them usually used on RVs or powering little utility shacks outside a building. theyre keyed like that so you gotta make sure its lined uo before itll wrestle in

that one you describe, i actually use that same exact type to hook up air conditioners in the summer time that sit outside on a pallet. i put them away in the winter. ive been asking mgmt for a permanent install instead of this nigger rig bullshit i keep doing every year, but apparently since it works, they wont cough up the money.

probably gonna pull them out again next week for the 4th year running.
