You now realize that you are alone in your room. It is dirty, it is messy, and yet here you are on your computer, doing nothing about it.
You now realize that you are alone in your room. It is dirty, it is messy, and yet here you are on your computer...
I swept my room for the first time in a year.
i actually live in my own home, neet.

Maybe you'd have a cute lady if your room wasn't such a mess
I am a neet but I do clean my room once a month.
go out for like 1 hour and you'll see one
it's not your actual problem

Can choose what career he has even if he has to start in retail or food service to make some starting money to buy a decent car, clothes, education, or start a business, or make money by making meme videos online
Sees no hope in life
Extra poundage helps with child rearing
Fix your problem instead of running from it, then they will be attracted to you. Cleaning your room can't hurt.

i live in a rural shithole in texas and see girls i think about like once a week atleast
you literally see like 300 people if you go out to like a walmart parking lot for 20 minutes

there was this cute tomboy who worked the nightshift at lowes, i still think about her
she walked around expressionless wearing sunglasses in there
Too much extra poundage is indicative of a problem. Depending on her age and yours, your goals and how much time you have, that means it might be in your best interest to pass that one up. But no one is perfect. Maybe if she has a good relationship with you, if you can bring her happiness, she'll find the will to drop the extra pounds that are hurting her.
also 300 people at the walshart?
what fucking metropolis megacity do you think I live in?
i just told you how to locate girls to motivate you, if you're not interested in that then don't post this again

about 3k
oh my bad
that's a shame
do you find it nice/peaceful, or is it more isolating/desolate?
or do you not go outside enough to notice?
in the US, you can always drive to a bigger town & drive back, if the isolation really starts getting to you
I find it peaceful
I like having cows as my neighbors
but not human cows. I should specify
I too have lost most of my things, and I can barely walk, and I need a wheelchair to get around. No job, no car, no money at 30 plus years old. If you're 50 years old and you still don't have kids, then it's obviously much harder to have a fairy tale normal life. But that's not the only kind of life that can make you happy. Surely there's a lady who's in a similar situation to you, who would be happy to spend her life with you. Perhaps some poor Eastern European lady who is 30 years old would be willing to take a chance and have children with you. you even easier if you found some lady in some very poor country... Or you can just adopt and forget about the fairy tale ten children meme. There are a lot of children in orphanages who have terrible lives who would be grateful to be rescued.
Fix your problem
im trying im starting medication and trying to see a psychiatrist to get a better understanding of myself
yeah but try during the day
i don't got a license so if i don't wanna look like a creep at my local park doesn't work too well

Oh thanks do you ever get into this kind of thing?
She seems interested, bubbly, and talkative
Cool well there's this related thing happening in town next weekend, will I see you there?
yup
Therapy helped me with a lot of my issues. Some issues for me it are more or less insurmountable though, but therapy did help me with those two to some extent. I never did well on medication, and it gave me really creepy side effects, with the possibility of lifelong disabilities from prolonged use. If you think it will help, take them with the intention that it will be a temporary stepping stone. But neither a pill nor a drug can solve your problem. You have to find a solution to your problem ultimately.
>>As the ability to become rich
he actually believes this
Therapy helped me
was iffy on some of it before since all i saw was 'talk about ur feelings' meant to talk with my doctor about different forms of therapy
Tracking social mobility across specific classes—poor and impoverished, working class, middle class, upper class, and elite—in the United States involves analyzing intergenerational and intragenerational mobility, typically measured by income, wealth, education, or occupation. Comprehensive, up-to-date statistics breaking down mobility across these exact five categories are not uniformly available in a single dataset, as most studies simplify classes into three tiers (lower, middle, upper) or quintiles. However, I can synthesize recent data from reputable sources like Pew Research Center, Opportunity Insights, and the U.S. Census Bureau to approximate mobility trends as of April 5, 2025. These statistics primarily reflect intergenerational mobility (comparing individuals to their parents) due to better data availability, with some insights into intragenerational trends (within a lifetime).
Definitions and Assumptions
Poor and Impoverished: Roughly aligns with the bottom income quintile or below the poverty line (e.g., < $25,000–$30,000 annually for a household, adjusted for size).
Working Class: Often the lower-middle quintile or those with incomes slightly above poverty but below median (e.g., $30,000–$60,000).
Middle Class: Typically the middle 40%–60% of income distribution (e.g., $60,000–$150,000 for a household of three, adjusted).
Upper Class: The top 20% excluding the elite (e.g., $150,000–$500,000).
Elite: The top 1%–5% (e.g., > $500,000 annually or significant wealth).
Data is adjusted to reflect 2022–2023 dollars where possible, and mobility is assessed relative to parental status or earlier life stages.
Upward Mobility
Poor to Higher Classes:
About 30% of children born into the bottom quintile (poor/impoverished) reach the middle class or above by adulthood, per Opportunity Insights (Chetty et al., 2017, updated 2022). Only 7%–10% climb to the upper class or elite, with the elite (<1%) being rare.
Absolute upward mobility (earning more than parents) has declined: 90% of those born in 1940 out-earned their parents, but only 50% of those born in 1980 did (Chetty et al., 2017).
Working Class to Middle or Higher:
Around 40%–45% of working-class children (second quintile) move to the middle class or beyond, with 15% reaching the upper class or elite (Pew, 2021; Chetty et al., 2022).
Middle Class to Upper/Elite:
Approximately 20%–25% of middle-class children (third quintile) move into the upper class or elite, with 5% hitting the elite tier (Pew, 2021; Census MOVS, 2024).
Upper Class to Elite:
About 10%–15% of upper-class children (fourth quintile) reach the elite (top 1%–5%), though this is less studied due to smaller sample sizes (Federal Reserve, 2019).
Staying in the Same Class
Poor and Impoverished:
Roughly 50%–60% of those born in the bottom quintile remain there as adults (Chetty et al., 2017; Census MOVS, 2024). This "stickiness" is higher in regions like the South.
Working Class:
About 40%–45% stay in the working class (second quintile), with limited movement up or down (Pew, 2021).
Middle Class:
Around 50% of middle-class children remain middle class (third quintile), reflecting stability but not stagnation (Pew, 2021; Gallup, 2024).
Upper Class:
Approximately 60%–65% of those in the fourth quintile stay upper class, with less volatility than lower tiers (Pew, 2021).
Elite:
Over 70% of the top 1%’s children remain in the top 5% (elite or near-elite), showing strong intergenerational persistence (Federal Reserve, 2019; Chetty et al., 2022).
Downward Mobility
Working Class to Poor:
About 15%–20% of working-class children fall to the bottom quintile (Pew, 2021; Census MOVS, 2024).
Middle Class to Working Class or Poor:
Around 25%–30% of middle-class children drop to working class or poor, with 10% hitting the bottom quintile (Pew, 2021). Younger adults (18–29) report higher downward mobility (25%) than older adults (8% for 65+) (Pew, 2012, updated 2021).
Upper Class to Middle or Lower:
Roughly 15%–20% of upper-class children fall to the middle class, with 5% dropping to working class or poor (Pew, 2021).
Elite to Upper or Lower:
About 20%–25% of elite children fall to the upper class, and 5%–10% drop further to middle or below, though this is rare (Federal Reserve, 2019).
Key Trends and Insights
Overall Mobility: From 1971 to 2021, the share of adults in upper-income tiers rose from 14% to 21% (+7 points), lower-income tiers from 25% to 29% (+4 points), and middle-income tiers shrank from 61% to 51% (Pew, 2021). This suggests a net upward shift, but with polarization.
Generational Decline: Absolute mobility has halved since the 1940s, driven by wage stagnation and inequality. Middle-class children born in 1980 have a 45% chance of out-earning parents, down from 93% for those born in 1940 (Opportunity Insights, 2022).
Demographic Variations: Black and Hispanic Americans, and those in the South, show lower upward mobility and higher "stickiness" in lower classes. Education (e.g., college degrees) triples the odds of moving from poor to upper tiers (Pew, 2022).
Wealth vs. Income: Wealth mobility is even stickier—70% of the bottom wealth quintile stay there, and 66% of the top stay elite (Brookings, 2022).
Summary (Approximate Percentages)
Poor/Impoverished: 50%–60% stay, 30% move up, 10%–20% N/A (already bottom).
Working Class: 40%–45% stay, 40%–45% move up, 15%–20% move down.
Middle Class: 50% stay, 20%–25% move up, 25%–30% move down.
Upper Class: 60%–65% stay, 10%–15% move up, 15%–20% move down.
Elite: 70%+ stay, N/A (already top), 20%–25% move down.
Socrates says, "Know thyself." It can be helpful to examine your emotions if you don't do so regularly. I used therapy as a way to better understand the issues I was dealing with, and it helped that my therapist was on par with me intellectually. Not all the therapists or group therapy programs I went to could have joined me very deeply on discussions about philosophy or the mind or how knowledge is possible, issues that factored into my symptoms. I had solipsistic delusions for a while, as well as many others, and it was helpful to get feedback on them from someone who was older and wiser. Even if he couldn't answer all of my questions, it was still helpful for me to parse them out loud, as a way to start to make sense of them; and he still gave me advice on which direction I might take with them. When you ruminate over things in your head, they can get muddled up.

ive been doing this all my life so yeah my brain feels like a pile of slug
Therapy is only one way to move past your issues. You can talk with friends, group therapy can be helpful, you can write, make art, make music, make YouTube videos and see what people comment on them, etc
You can also spend 60 seconds cleaning your room before you go to bed tonight
You can also spend 60 seconds cleaning
fine anon dad ill at least do this before bed
It's hard right now, anon son, and it's really dark, and you don't know which way to turn or how much longer you're going to be here. But it's worth it to keep trying and keep striving to free yourself, no matter how bad things might seem.
There are a lot of people who are much worse off than us who don't give up.
